Gauteng ABC Motsepe League, Match Preview | 17 October 2026
Jomo Cosmos return to action in the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League when they welcome Mike-1 Stars FC to Duduza Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off set for 15h00. Ezenkosi have a fresh backdrop for this one, having moved their home fixtures to Duduza after renovations forced them out of their usual Vaal base. It gives the famous old club a new stage on which to chase the points that matter in their promotion bid, and a meeting with Mike-1 Stars offers an early chance to make the new ground feel like home. For a name as storied as Cosmos, every matchday in this division is about reminding everyone why they belong higher up.
A New Home For Ezenkosi
The switch to Duduza Stadium is the headline around the club heading into this fixture. With their intended venue undergoing work, Cosmos have had to adapt their arrangements, and Saturday represents a chance to settle quickly into new surroundings. Getting the supporters behind the team in Duduza and turning the ground into a fortress will be part of the plan as the campaign builds.
The Mike-1 Stars Test
Mike-1 Stars FC arrive as familiar opponents at this level, and clashes between the two have tended to be tight, competitive affairs. The Fearless Animal will travel with no intention of making life easy for their hosts, which means Cosmos cannot afford a slow start in their new home. Discipline, patience and taking the chances that come their way will be key if Ezenkosi are to claim the three points.
Final word
This is exactly the kind of fixture that can set the tone for a season — a proud club in new surroundings, looking to lay down a marker against determined visitors. For Jomo Cosmos, Saturday is about more than three points; it is about making Duduza Stadium their own and keeping their promotion ambitions on track. Get the basics right in front of their fans, and Ezenkosi can turn a new chapter into a winning one.
